Edana’s Defense Gear Guide

Introduction

Edana’s Defense Gears are the best in slot armor set in BDO and arrived in August 2025 with the Edania region patch. The gear set is an upgraded version of the “Ancient/Slumbering Orgin” set and can only be obtained by exchanging TET or PEN Ancient gear (Fallen God Armor, Labreska Helmet, Dahn’s Gloves, Ator’s Shoes).

The Edana’s Defense Gear also shares the same “Ancient” set effect as the other gear pieces.

How to craft Edana’s Defense Gear

Once you have completed the ‘[Edana’s Defense Gear] A Piece of Secret’ quest, you can craft Edana’s Defense Gear through the crafting quests below:

The Edana’s Fragment NPC can be found east of the Litovan Mountains node. You must take the two elevator platforms down to the bottom to get to the NPC location.

Exchanging PEN Slumbering Gear

If you have PEN Slumbering Armors, you can exchange them through a different crafting quest to obtain a NOV (IX) Edana’s Defense Gear instead.

Enhancing Edana’s Defense Gear

Edana’s Defense Gear can be enhanced using new Blackstones called Edana’s Black Stones.

How to obtain Piece of Edana

Piece of Edana are only obtained through the weekly boss subjugation in Edania. There are 3 bosses available but you can only challenge one of the bosses each week.

• The quest can be obtained from Bahram in Hakinza Sanctuary. You can also find the quest under Quest (O) – Suggested tab then “[Travel Aid] [Lv. 60] A Deal with Hakinza Sanctuary.”

Edana Defense Gear Appearance and Costume

When you successfully craft all four pieces of Edana’s Defense Gear, you can proceed with a quest to obtain a costume with the same appearance.

• This quest can be completed once per family.

Primordial Pigments – Edana Effect Dye

Primordial Pigments are an item you can use to change the particle effect color of your Sovereign and Edana gear.

• The Primordial Pigment items can be purchased from the Central Market.

Once you have the Primordial Pigment item, open the Dye (J) menu, select your Sovereign or Edana’s Defense Gear, and navigate to the [Effect] tab to dye the effect.

• 1 Pigment item is consumed per piece of equipment
• For Sovereign weapons, the item’s appearance color will also change to match the effect color.
• Effects are only visible on PEN (V) or higher. For TET (IV) or lower, only the appearance color will change.
• For Edana’s Defense Gear, dyeing the effect does not change the gear’s base appearance color. Base colors must be dyed separately.
• When using Item Copy after Tagging characters, Effect Dyes will also be copied.
  
  • However, any dye changes made while Tagged will not be reflected on the linked character.
• Effect Dyes cannot be applied directly to copied equipment.
  
  • e.g., If character A’s items are copied to character B, you cannot use effect dyes on character B’s equipment.

To remove the dye, click the Extract button to extract the dye from the item.

• Extraction is possible without any limit, and no additional resources are consumed.
• Equipment that already has effects dyed with Primordial Pigment must be extracted before dyeing effects of a different color.
