Introduction
Godr-Ayed Weapons are an alternative version to the Blackstar Weapons but have a different enhancing method. Blackstar Weapons are enhanced straight from TET > PEN. While Godr-Ayed Weapons are divided into 5 smaller stages of enhancement so that players can make progress over time.
A base Godr-Ayed Weapon has exactly the same stats as a TET Blackstar Weapon, and PEN Godr-Ayed Weapon has exactly the same stats as a PEN Blackstar Weapon.
The Godr-Ayed Weapons were simply created to provide a different route for enhancement and require different items that are obtained from Calpheon Eliva grind spots, which have a recommended minimum AP of 270 Kutum and 330 DP.
Godr-Ayed Weapons can be registered and purchased on the Central Market at all enhancement stages.
Should I use Godr-Ayed Weapons?
Godr-Ayed Weapons are a good alternative to the TET Blackstar weapons, since you get additional AP for each enhancement level, putting you into higher AP brackets, and the enhancements are also step by step with progression over time.
However, the Godr-Ayed weapon gets much harder to enhance if you are going past TRI/TET all the way to PEN. In this case, you often use Cron Stones for the attempts and need multiple big failstacks. Therefore, the Godr-Ayed Weapons are often referred to as a “noob trap” since many newer players swap to Godr-Ayed without realizing how difficult they are to enhance.
Most players who go down the Godr-Ayed route, enhance their Godr-Ayed weapons to DUO/TRI and keep them there while they do PEN Blackstar attempts on a seperate TET Blackstar weapon. It is also useful to keep a TET Blackstar for J Hammer attempts.
You can push your Godr-Ayed weapon further if you want to, and even all the way up to PEN, but on average it works out cheaper to enhance on a seperate Blackstar. This is calculated using the total cost of crons, silver value of failstacks used, and average amount of clicks needed. You can sell your Godr-Ayed Weapon on the market afterward to get some silver back.
If you “overstack” and use higher failstacks on TRI > TET, then obviously the chance goes up and may work out cheaper, but there is a fine line of balance, and ultimately it comes down to how lucky you are and whether you prefer having the more secure option with Godr-Ayed.
How to Obtain Godr-Ayed Weapons
To obtain the Godr-Ayed Weapon, you must exchange a TET Blackstar Weapon.
You can use the FREE TET Blackstar if you wish.
- Exchanging your TET Blackstar will give you a base Godr-Ayed Weapon for the same class
- The base Godr-Ayed weapon has exactly the same stats as the TET Blackstar.
- You can then enhance the Godr-Ayed Weapon to PEN (+0 → PRI → DUO → TRI → TET → PEN)
Once you have both the TET Blackstar and the Scorching Sun Gemstone in your inventory, you can summon your Black Spirit to start a prerequisite questline, starting with the quest “[Godr-Ayed Weapon] Merindora’s Calling”
- The questline can also be found in your Quest Log (O) > Suggested > [Combat] The Tale of the Godr-Ayed Weapon
The questline will lead you to Merindora in Grana. It is easy to complete, just follow the autopath and talk to the NPCs.
After completing this prerequisite questline, you can go back to Merindora to take a repeatable quest that allows you to exchange a TET Blackstar to base Godr-Ayed.
The quest at Merindora will be called “[Godr-Ayed Weapon] In the Fallen God’s Name: [Weapon Name]“
- Make sure the TET Blackstar is in your inventory (not equipped)
- Hand over the “Scorching Sun Gemstone” and the TET Blackstar
- Complete the quest to obtain your Godr-Ayed Weapon
How to Enhance Godr-Ayed Weapons
“Scorching Sun Gemstone” is the material used to enhance Godr-Ayed Weapons. It requires the material “Remnants of the Burning Sun”, which is obtained from all Calpheon Elvia Grind spots.
You can also use Black Stone Powder x1 with either recipe to make x10 at once
Unlike Blackstar weapons, Godr-Ayed Weapons only lose 10 maximum durability if the enhancement fails and do not decrease in enhancement level between +0 to DUO.
Godr-Ayed Recommended Failstacks
- Use 100 or more fail stacks to get PRI
- Use 130 or more fail stacks to get DUO
- Use 150 or more fail stacks to get TRI – recommended to use Cron Stones
- Use 170 or more fail stacks to get TET – recommended to use Cron Stones
- Use 200 or more fail stacks to get PEN – recommended to use Cron Stones
Agris Essence Required
Agris Essence is gained every time you fail to enhance a piece of gear. All Godr-Ayed Weapons share Agris Essence, and once you reach a certain amount of Agris Essence you can enhance the gear with 100% success chance. The table below shows the amount of Agris Essence you need for each enhancement level.
- For example, to enhance a TET Godr-Ayed Weapon to PEN, you would need 50 Agris Essence, which means you would need to fail to enhance TET > PEN 50 times.
[All gear within this group share stored Agris Essences.] |

Weapon Appearance
Godr-Ayed Weapons have a purple glow. You are be able to consume a small amount of materials to swap a PEN Blackstar and PEN Godr-Ayed Weapon freely, depending on which appearance you prefer.
Converting PEN Godr-Ayed/Blackstar
You can convert PEN Blackstar weapons into PEN Godr-Ayed weapons and vise versa. This is so that you can change their appearance depending on which you prefer.
- Weapons can be converted as many times as you like
- Weapons that are branded with a Family Name will keep the branded name when they are converted
- Weapons that have been reformed using Garmoth’s Heart, Karanda’s Heart, or Kutum’s Heart will keep their reformed status when they are converted
Once you have the Scorching Sun Crystal, you can summon your Black Spirit and use the “Reform” function to convert your weapon.
Converting between Godr-Ayed/Blackstar now appears to be handled through the Black Spirit using the reform functionality.
